Top Ten Books one must read before die

I remember the first time I got my hands on a self-improvement book. I was baffled. At that moment I realized my fate was not set in stone. I could become my own drill master and coach. The books I read would set out the training course for me to overcome. All I had to do was listen to that voice that aspired to climb higher and higher.Every time I committed to a new challenge I knew it was going to be outside my comfort zone, but after enough iterations, I also knew it will not just be part of my repertoire, it will be part of me. I just turned 24, and while I acknowledge some inherent dangers in the concept of self-improvement, I still believe in the beauty of self-directing your life. This is why I am sharing with you 10 Best Books on Self-Improvement You Need to Read Before You Die!

Think & Grow Rich is probably THE #1 most famous success book of all time. It was written by Napoleon Hill in 1937 and has sold over 15 million copies.
The premise of the book is simple:
Riches begin with a state of mind. If we want to get rich, we must first change our minds so that we become, as Napoleon Hill calls it, money conscious. He says that we must literally THINK ourselves rich. The term riches, by the way,
Could mean any form of wealth like money, happiness, healthy relationships, business success etc..
This book offers the How-To of the aforementioned concept. It shows us how we must think to become money conscious. It shows us how to think ourselves rich, how to control our minds and our thoughts so that we can become rich.

The title of this book doesn’t capture it all. Covey shares with us seven habits one should adopt to become truly effective in whatever you would like to achieve. Of course, it is not as easy as it sounds. He stresses the fact that we need to go through a paradigm shift – a fundamental change in how we perceive the world and ourselves. This book can be read as a guide, with practices and everything, to go through the stages in order to make such a shift happen. Part shock-therapy, part ageless spiritual wisdom, Covey’s book is packed with wisdom that actually makes a difference. And, as I mentioned, don’t let the title of the book fool you; it is about much more than just becoming more effective. It is about becoming a whole integer person who not only seeks the best in oneself but also in the people around her. A must-read for anyone who feels there is always something left to learn.

This is the first self-improvement book I have ever read and it is also probably one of the oldest in this category. Written in 1937, mainly for the door to door salesman of that era, this book by Carnegie can truly be called a classic. It shows what we all intuitively know: it doesn’t matter what your line of work is or what you want to achieve- if you are doing the business of any kind, you need to make it about the other person. Being nice helps a lot. And while I might not fully defend the premise of this book, because it doesn’t distinguish between genuine interest and faking it to get what you want, it still contains a treasure chest full of timeless wisdom. Everybody wants to feel appreciated, and rightfully so. Learning to take a small effort to make someone’s day will make the world run smoother, no matter what your goal is. I still spontaneously remember some of his guidance, and perhaps this quality is the reason why this book still draws millions of readers to this day.

Kiyosaki tackles the ‘financial literacy” that’s never addressed in schools.  He had two father figures growing up.  One who struggled paycheck to pay check for a lifetime whom he called “poor dad” and the other who was a multimillionaire eighth-grade dropout he lovingly calls “rich dad”.  The concept behind the book is that rich people have money work for them while the poor work for money.  This is a must read to change anyone’s negative belief system on money or to further your understanding of how money can work for you.

How to Stop Worrying and Start Living has stood the test of time as one of the most popular self-help books on the market over 60 years after its first publication. Carnegie’s book defined how a generation of readers faced the worry controlling every aspect of their lives.
The book is divided into the following 8 sections:
-Fundamental Facts You Should Know About Worry
-Basic Techniques in Analyzing Worry
-How to Break the Worry Habit Before it Breaks You
-Seven Ways to Cultivate A Mental Attitude That Will Bring You Peace and Happiness
-The Perfect Way to Conquer Worry
-How to Keep from Worrying About Criticism
-Six Ways to Prevent Fatigue and Worry and Keep Your Energies and Spirits High
-“How I Conquered Worry”
The first 7 sections outline Carnegie’s simple philosophies on how to handle worry in various aspects of our lives, such as decision-making and how we are perceived by others. The 8th section provides various stories, from all types of people, which show how they used these strategies to conquer worry and live a fulfilled life.

The Magic of Thinking Big was first published in 1959 and its philosophies on setting goals still hold true. The book’s most important philosophy is thinking highly of oneself. It preaches the importance of setting lofty goals and embracing the power of positive thought to achieve these goals.
Another core concept is the power of visualization. Schwartz provides strategies for visualizing yourself achieving your goals and channeling that feeling for motivation. As these visualizations start manifesting themselves, the next step is to spread the good news. Broadcasting good news sends out gratitude to the universe and keeps the positive cycle flowing.

Murphy’s book on the subconscious shows just how much of our choices are made on autopilot. Murphy teaches his readers how the subconscious is the key to many aspects of life, including:
-Healing physical ailments using the subconscious
-Strengthen all relationships
-Developing friendships with strangers
-Living a life free of irrational phobias
-Develop the confidence needed to advance in one’s career
Murphy uses scientific research to back his claims regarding the power of the subconscious. This scientific basis makes “The Power of Your Subconscious” a great choice for the rational skeptic. With these benefits, it is no wonder Murphy’s book on the power of the Subconscious has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

When a friend of mine told me that ‘Who will cry when you die?' is a must read the book - I laughed at him and told him that I wasn't ready for such a book yet. Nevertheless, my friend persuaded me to open any page of the book, read a story and close it. Well, I did pick up the 'Who will cry when you die', but it's not easy to put the book down. That's Robin Sharma for you with yet another book after 'The monk who sold his Ferrari' that is simple, insightful and thoughtful.

10. The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
The Power of Positive Thinking paved the way for the self-help book centered on the theory of positive thinking as the sole determining factor in what we get out of life. It set the groundwork for books such as “The Secret”, which deals with the Law of Attraction.
The Power of Positive Thinking teaches readers how to break the habit of worrying about things outside of their control. It gives practical exercises designed to get the reader to focus their negative energy into positive energy directed towards achieving their goals. These exercises show readers how to embrace their inner power and realize they deserve to receive even their wildest dreams if only they align themselves with the energy of positive thought.

3 ways to become Successful: Financially and Spirtually

kulalabhinnadan@gmail.com
Every people want to become successful in their life. In order to attain the success, they work hard throughout their life. Some people have an opinion that real success means earning monetary wealth and some people opinioned that success means mental peace through the spiritual way. We can’t say that one is right another is wrong; both people are right in their own perspective. This article does not discuss about which way is right rather it tells how one can attain success in both the ways.
3 ways to Success:
If you search in Google or in YouTube you will get a number of ways to become a success. Here in this article I summarize all of those articles and videos and presenting 3 ways to become a success by dividing it a success through spiritual and success through rational.

  1.  Earn
Spiritual way: “Earn virtue through Good Work”
As Martin Luther Jr. said, “Anyone can become a success because anyone can serve”. People like Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi succeeded because of service to this society and thereby they earned greatness in the mind of people.

Rational way: “Earn money through Hard Work”
In a materialistic world in order to become a success by becoming rich, one has to earn money through hard work. It does not matter how much money you have but how much money you earned. Earning money through hard work or in smart work but you should follow moral ethical. No one in the world become a success by earning money through the filthy way. If they earned by the filthy way then their success only for short-term only, take the example of Harshad Mehta, Ketan Parekh etc. They earned money by cheating people in the stock market but they could not hold their success for a longer time. The first way to become rich ‘Earn money through Honesty’

2. Invest
Spiritual way:  “Invest your time for society”
People are wondering now how Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln became successful in their life. They still remained in the mind of people not only because of they were leaders but they spent their time for the benefits of the society. They invest their most Time among needy people. In the modern world, nobody has time to spend with their loved ones because they invest their time for unnecessary things which give short-term pleasure. So I request you invest some portion of your time with society and loved ones.

Rational way: “Invest your money wisely”
Normally middle-class people developed consumerism attitude i.e. they earn money and spend it for those assets which don’t give any return rather it creates more liability. Most of the people asking that ‘why richer become richest and poorer become poorest?’. The only reason for this ‘THEY DON’T INVEST WISELY’. If you want more reasons for this I suggest the best book in the world that is ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki. If you are already investing and not successful then you have to read “Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham who is Guru of Warren Buffet (world’s most successful investor) and Father of Value Investment.

3. Share

Spiritual way: “Share Love to the World”
“Humans were created to love one another not to hate one another”
Every human being can love himself and love other also. As Dr.B.M. Hegde said that, “ If you eat well, sleep well, Shit well and if you don’t hate anyone then no diseases will harm you”. Therefore Start your day with service and end with love all.

Rational way: “Share Money to needy people”
“Don’t Share as you are rich, share as you are Human”
This can be explained by giving a practical example of world’s No.1 richest person Bill Gates and world’s No.3 richest person they become richer by heart by share their majority portion of their Net Worth to the society in the name of ‘PLEDGE IN’. Real successful people share their money and secret of their success to the others.

In this article, I just give insight into your mind how one can become successful by opting both Spiritual and Rational way. This article gives only knowledge, the most important thing you have to remember is the reason behind every success is taking action. An idea doesn’t create success but the only action creates success.
